Chalice Christian Church is an Open and Affirming congregation. We are progressive, we ask questions, we welcome, and we love each other! We are not your regular church. Our worship is simple, humble, fun, filled with prayer and singing, sharing with one another, and listening for where God is calling us next. Join us on the journey as we seek to further follow Jesus! If you are in the East Valley, and are looking for a progressive church, please come and visit! We are looking for you!

Chalice’s Pastor - Rev. Jay Deskins

Pastor Jay has served as Pastor of Chalice Christian Church since January 2024. Jay is a lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Christian Theological Seminary (Indianapolis). He has served several congregations, non-profits, as a hospice chaplain, and even a cave tour guide! He and his wife, Kelley, moved to Arizona in the fall of 2017, and have loved calling this beautiful state home. Jay and Kelley are both from Kentucky, and that is where all of our family is. Kelley is also a pastor, she serves Saguaro Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Tucson. Together, Jay and Kelley have two amazing dogs, Maybelline and Canela. Jay’s personal mission is to open more people to the transformational love and teachings of Jesus Christ. Jay lives in Tucson and has a second job, but is still available if you need to reach him!
